Mebane Robertson's "Signal from Draco" Review in Rain Taxi-- Chris Kondrich

Just a quick shout-out: Christopher Kondrich's review of Mebane Robertson's "Signal from Draco" is out in the Spring 2009 issue of Rain Taxi. Read the review and/or buy a copy of Robertson's book at: http://www.raintaxi.com/online/2009spring/robertson.shtml.

Chris's recent poems can be found in the Fall 2008 copy of the Seneca Review, among other places. Currently, he's in the process of finding his first book, "Canto Fermo," a means of publication. If this guy can't publish a book, I have no hope for anyone else.

2008 Yale Younger Series

As an avid fan of this series (and the oh-so-uplifting Louise Gluck), it should come as no surprise that I'm already an avid fan of Arda Collins' "It Is Daylight," the new 2008 Yale Younger Series pick. My ever-knowledgeable, piscean twin Christina LaPrease gave me a copy, and I'm already obsessed.

Visit http://yalepress.yale.edu/yupbooks/youngerpoets.asp for a list of other recent winners. If you're new to the series, a few of my faves include Jessica Fisher's "Frail-Craft" from 2006, Richard Siken's "Crush" from 2004, and Maurice Manning's "Lawrence Booth's Book of Visions and Nightmares" from . . .not sure what year.

My fabulous and talented old roommate, Diane Wah, was just interviewed by "Dodge and Burn" regarding her photography. Check it out here: http://dodgeburn.blogspot.com/

For more of her work (and possibly incriminiating photos of me from when we lived together up in Harlem) check out her site: http://www.soundslikewah.com/

More soon . . .
